  • Hi john, so the expansion of the universe refers to the expansion of "Space" on some threshold of an inter galactic level " and at, say inter planetary levels, the expansion is nil due to the effects of gravity on space? Does this mean then that space expands at a different rate the further you get from small intergalactic structures like solar systems or even minor galaxies? does space expand at all at these smaller levels? I am confuse as to whether or not matter actually expands.
